Factiverse CTO Vinay Setty wins SR-Bank’s 2020 Innovation Award for groundbreaking anti-misinformation tech

Factiverse’s Co-Founder and CTO, Vinay Setty is the winner of Sparebank 1 SR-bank’s innovation award for 2020. He was awarded for Factiverse’s software that identifies news that is not true or lacks credibility. The prize was awarded by Executive Vice President Thor-Christian Haugland of SR-Bank during the annual party at the University of Stavanger on 29 October 2021. It consists of a diploma and a scholarship of NOK 50,000.

“This award means a lot to me and Factiverse. It confirms how important and necessary it is to develop solutions to misinformation. The award will help us continue to fight misinformation with cutting-edge technology”, says Vinay Setty.

Several strong candidates were nominated for this year’s award of Sparebank 1 SR-bank’s award for innovation and commercialization. The jury emphasizes that “Vinay Setty has shown an extraordinary ability to concretize research results in patents, license agreements and the establishment of a company that has taken the research further”.
